Franz Marc

born in Munich on the 8th February, 1880, . He studied in the Munich academy of arts and travelled several times to Paris where he saw the work of Gauguin, van Gogh and the impressionists. With Kandinsky he founded in 1911 the almanac " the blue rider " and organised exhibits under this name. He was a main member of the first to German drawing rooms d'Automne in 1913. He served beginning of the First World War as a volunteer, and he died close to Verdun, France on the 4th March, 1916.

Franz Marc was a pioneer of the abstract art at the beginning of the twentieth century. The Blue riders group introduce a new program for the art, being based on überschwänglicher colour and deeply of felt emotional and spiritual states. It was the special contribution of Franz Marc to introduce heavenly pictures which had a collection of animals, insbesonders a group of heroic horses as actors.

Tragic proofs Marc was killed in the First World War at the age of 36 years, but not before he had created some of the most thrilling and most moving pictures of the expressionist movement.
